Freedom Ride: Each year WIRK-FM invites motorcycle enthusiasts to join us in a procession of Freedom and ride with us from Northwood University in West Palm Beach to the Roundup Night Club in Davie, Fl. Hundreds of motorcycle riders participate with proceeds benefiting Forgotten Soldiers Outreach. Hundreds more greet the bikers at the Roundup Night Club and enjoy an evening of Country Music entertainment.
WIRK-FM as tied Northwood University into this program as the starting point of the event and it has paid off with tremendous dividends for their enrollment. WIRK-FM presents a Bike Show at this kick off point and brings all types of consumers to their campus and truly showcases their facility. Northwood has just signed a five year agreement with us to host this event through 2012.
Sneakers for Students: WIRK-FM conducts a program each year for “Back to School” that encourages listeners to donate a pair of sneakers to under privileged kids so that they can have shoes for the upcoming school year.
WIRK-FM has tied in West Palm KIA who sends the KIA patrol to different locations around Palm Beach County to pick up sneakers for these students. WIRK-FM also arranges to have a KIA at a local mall where listeners can shop for sneakers and place them in the KIA on display.
KIA has now committed to do this program again for the second year and tells us the community project and exposure for their line is the best program they conduct throughout the year.
