For nearly 2 decades, the centerpiece of Jeff Foxworthy's stand-up routine has been the "You might be a redneck..." observations. For example, "if you've ever cut your grass and found a car...you might be a redneck."

  

Well, in a sad commentary of social alienation visible everywere, a new study has revealed that, depending on your profession, you might be a psychopath.

 

In a book titled, The Wisdom of Psychopaths: What Saints, Spies and Serial Killers Can Teach Us About Success, renowned psychiatrist Kevin Dutton has determined that success in certain professons can be directly linked to those among us who exhibit "shallow emotions (in particular reduced fear), stress tolerance, lacking empathy, coldheartedness, lacking guilt, egocentricity, superficial char, manipulativeness, irresponsibility, impulsivity and antisocial behaviors such as parasitic lifestyle and criminality."

 

Based on this research, Dr. Dutton came up with a list of the top 10 professions that are more likely to be occupied by psychopaths (my career path is number 3, although I don't consider myself totally psychopathic). Is your job on the list?

 3. Media (TV/Radio)

 4. Salesperson

 5. Surgeon

 6. Journalist

 7. Police Officer

10. Civil Servant 

 

I guess the worst case scenario is that you might be a redneck psychopath.
