Eric Paslay Was Not Recognized When He Bought His Debut Album At WalMart

Mar 05, 2014 -- 5:45am

It must be pretty exciting for a new artist to finally walk into a store and buy their debut album.  Then again, being a new artist also means they probably won't get recognized.

That's what happened to ERIC PASLAY when he stopped into Walmart to pick up his self-titled debut CD.

He said, quote, "I maybe bought some creamer or something with it.  Coffee creamer and my album.  And the girl checks it out, and she looks at the record and she kinda looked at me and looked at the record and put it in the bag.

"I said, 'I've been probably been waiting over 10 years for that record to come out.'  She goes, 'Wow, 10 years?  How did you know that?'  I said, 'Well, it's my record.'"

But the cashier STILL didn't believe him.  He said, quote, "She pulled open the record and then called every Walmart assistant over to check it out and ask if it was really me."
